  1. Tomorrow, Oct. 6, the Downtown Parking Deck Ribbon Cutting will happen. The official grand opening of the Downtown Parking Deck at Canton City Hall will start at 5:00 p.m. All parking is free. (Canton GA)

The Cherokee County School District’s School Nutrition program won the Golden Radish Award from the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division, which is a top state honor for providing outstanding meals and repair to students. The award is given to the district which uses fresh, locally grown produce and ingredients in student meals, promotes the importance of farm-to-school food sourcing, and has school garden projects.   3. The annual Born to Run 5K in Cannon Park in downtown Canton will happen on Oct. 29. Registration is $25 and supports Reinhardt’s Cherokee Scholars program, which provides scholarships for college students from Cherokee County. (Reinhardt University)
